i was just wondering if you can marry a sex offender in south carolina if you have small children.?

I have a friend who is dating a sex offender and they are wanting to get married but she has small children. the man got in trouble with a 16 yr. old female and that was 10 years ago and he hasn't been in trouble since. she wants to know if this is legal and will they take her children.

Why would anyone want to marry a sex offender, a child sex offender at that. She is stupid.
