Music, happy




Question by heyheysg: Why does music and art make us happy?

I believe that human happiness/pleasure is mostly tied to the survival of our genes.
Good- Socialisng, Having sex, having children, getting paid, eating etc
Bad- Getting fired, failing exams, pain, getting dumped, death of family member. etc.

However, I can't seem to fit music and art into the lists, assuming animals don't get pleasure from Mozart. Also we can broadly catergorise TV shows/films/videogames into art/music.
